Manifesto

All the races organized by Sgravello Races are meant to guarangee fair competion and respect the nature of self-support events:

  1. UNSUPPORTED: No 3rd party support, private lodgings or resupply. All food, drink and equipment must be carried with you or acquired at commercially available service
  2. SELF-SUFFICIENT: Riders must not solicit any form of private resupply from locals on the race route, any such interaction must be freely offered and unplanned
  3. NO DRAFTING: Not allowed with other participants (except PAIRS), Not allowed with vehicles, Not allowed with random riders encountered along the way. NO DRAFTING WHATSOEVER
  4. HUMAN POWERED: All forward travel overland must be human powered
  5. TRACKING: All riders must maintain evidence of their ride
  6. MANDATORY ITEMS: Travel insurance, cycle helmets, lights and equipment in the required equipment list are mandatory,
  7. TRAFFIC: Riders must know and observe all local traffic laws
  8. LITTERING: Be respectful of the environment. You should leave the places as you found.
  9. REMOTE SUPPORT: You can call and chat with your loved ones during the ride BUT they cannot absolutely support you in providing information about the route ahead and/or reserve sleeping locations while you are riding. This is an unsupported and self-sufficient race!
  10. MAJOR BREAKDOWNs: In case you have a major mechanical issue which requires a professional intervention, you can inform the organizer and share the exact location where you have decided to temporarily stop. From that moment you can leave the track and use any available mean to reach the nearest workshop (or whatever facility you need) as soon as possible. Then if you want to resume the race you MUST come back at the exact location where you have left the track and resuming after informing and receiving the confirmation from the organizer that you are good to restart. NOTE: Even during this time, the clock will NOT stop clicking!
  11. SLEEPING: This is an ultra cycling event so it is well known that participants will try to reduce as much as possible the sleeping time to eat as much kilometers as possible per day. Anyhow, the organizer is NOT responsible for any consequence due to sleeping deprivation. The rider is responsible for ensuring that the amount of hours dedicated to sleep/resting is sufficient to maintain safer riding performances. NOTE: Where, When, How you sleep it is completely in the hands of the rider (either camping outdoors or finding a nice hotel) BUT it is absolutely forbidden to book and/or reserve any facilities in advance or using the friend/relative/colleagues connections (example: you CANNOT sleep in your uncles’ place  or you CANNOT contact your friend from to have a couch where to sleep).

If, as above, all RULES are observed then the rider will be awarded a CATEGORY FINISH and be given a finishing position in the general classification for solo or pairs as well as being listed in the register of arrivals. Where any reasonable doubt may exist and there is no evidence of qualification then the riderw ill need to prove it.
